A skull thus deformed, belonging to a skeleton of very great stature, has been found near the gate of Damascus at Jerusalem. Dr. Meigs recognized that the form was due to the pressure exercised during infancy.(This skull is now part of the collections of the Academy of Natural Sciences at Philadelphia) This artificial modification of the head also existed among the Caledonians, Scandinavians, and Anglo-Saxons of the remote ages.
Dinaric-Nephilim type skulls that were found in Jerusalem. Are recognized with the backs of their head appearing 'cut away'. This type of skull was also found in great numbers in southern England within the burial mounds around Stonehenge. It also found within the burial mounds in the Ohio Valley.
